Some suggestions

Hello. I have been playing hedgewars often for a few months and I think some things could be improved:
1. Randomness.
- if I play a map called 'octorama', then switch to 'ropes' and then back to 'octorama' - positions of hedges don't change. If I want them to be randomized again, I have to click on 'generate a map' and then switch to 'octorama'.
- I think that new positions should be generated each time I change the map, not only when I generate a random map.
2. First weapon.
I play shoppa. First turn it's all ok - I start my with a rope. Problem starts when I collect a 'wasp'/'bee' (sorry, no idea what it is called in english version.) Then every hog starts turn with this 'wasp' and it's really distracting, because it wants me to select the target etc. Also, it's easy to missclick and shoot something instead of shooting a rope, as you really need to hurry in shoppa. What about making an option to select last used weapon at the start of the turn?
3. Team -> player.
I think there's not an option to see what player plays what team when you are in game. That would be really nice to know 'who is who'. I know that you can see it before the game, but being able to see it in game would be nice and helpful Smile Also, I think it would be nice to have a possibility to kick a spectator out of a room, even when the game is being played.
4. Long names.
I think there should be some limit of length of player/team names. I would show the screenshot I made yesterday, but somehow it's not saved (I have reached some screenshots limit I suppose). Anyway, I played with someone that makes his hedge-names half-screen long and it was really annoying. I know I can turn them off by pressing 'delete', but I think it should be forbidden to make them long like this. It also spoils the captions shown in the top of the screen like 'xxx is wet', because they turn into 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' when the name is too long Smile
5. Wasp target problem.
Sometimes it is not possible to select the target of wasp below some line. Mouse just can't go lower, than this line as it would be the end of game-level (but it's not). I think it is a common problem, but I'm not really sure Smile

I hope you will consider my suggestions and I hope that they will help you to improve that wonderful game Smile

1. Randomness.
I totally agree, i expect position to be distributed each game, even if it is played twice in a row. Position and turn order btw. Maybe a 'randomize' button would make things clear.

2. First weapon.
Actually, i think that last weapon is selected automatically, but maybe it tries to avoid selecting utilities? Anyway, Im sure lots of people fired mortar in place of bazooka because they used it the previous turn.

3. Team -> player.
Yep, A small icon in the ingame chat dispaying team(s) color(s) would be perfect imho.

4. Long names.
I don't mind pressing delete twice, or three times.

5. Wasp target problem.
I just ran into it, i could not build some distance above water, the mouse wouldn't go below. There was some room though.

for the homing bee problem, you have to zoom in all the way and it will work Big Grin
