I don't think anyone has any opposition to you trying to publish it. If you want any feedback or support, maybe stay on #hedgewars a bit more? ☺

Certainly any more visibility helps.

One thing that definitely did cost us was getting targetted by that annoying deletionist on Wikipedia. Once he and his deletionist buddies closed ranks it pretty much didn't matter what we linked them to, like the german print review or the Hak5 video review or https://www.cnet.com/news/playing-video-games-makes-opponents-think-and-feel-alike/ We used to get like 90% of our download clickthroughs from there.

Maybe if some fan tries again they could toss in https://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=3313024

But deletionists got so annoyed at fans recreating the page that they locked it. It's funny/sad how many minor FOSS games are on wikipedia - but I guess once you get their attention...

Using Steam features would be really nice, but this can be added later if anyone ever wants to implement it.

The news are that game was not approved for steam since its libraries licenses conflict with steam api in legal way, so only creator of game could allow changes needed for it.

Also i have control over moddb page, if you want to allow edit it let me know.

Which libraries and licenses? There are few FOSS games on Steam (like Teeworlds), maybe we could ask their authors what are Steam's license restrictions.

Well our license is technically in conflict with iOS and android too, we just choose to allow it just so the poor bastards in the closed mobile world can still play. I imagine the same could be done for steam...

Sucky how walled off things have gotten these days though.
