Default teams after the installation

Hi there,
First of all, i want to applaude the devs & community for this wonderful clone game! (Surely the best out there, the hedgehogs are so sweet... and angry Big Grin).

I've tried weeks ago a 0.7.x build with a buddy and ours impressions were mostly a lack of a good sound ambiance but it seems you're working on it at the moment so it's perfect (i've tested the 0.9.9 right now)^^

I would like to know if it'll be possible to create default teams directly into the build so the player can play instantanely against funny AI teams.
Some example of suggested default teams:
- Star Wars, with a Darth vader and some troopers
- The fruits team available on the quickmatch
- Bad HedgeHogs, with theirs colored inverted caps
- Happy hedgehogs, with the clown, the bunny etc...
- 300's team, with some funny spartiate names
- Samouraïs
- Indians
- Cow-boys
etc..

i hope this wasn't suggested already !
What do you think about that ?

I agree, it'd be great to have some pre-made CPU teams with decent names etc.

Well, surely it's an idea, but the one with 300 teams... Smile I do think it's better if the guys from the Hedgewars-team do more developing, instead of thinking about if in team "Little hedgehogs" the fifth hedgehog should be named "Lucy" or "Jack" Smile Better not. One team as default is enough. You can make a couple of teams for less then 5-6 minutes.

Lawl. well, 1-3 pre-defined teams, Difficulties 1, 3 and 5 would be good. They could also then appear in (apparently planned) missions and extra training missions when they're made. Smile

I'm glad that the AI has nice thematic teams.
Could they please be made available to humans in custom mode and online?

As it is now, starting up with a few friends forces you to go through the creation of teams, and depending on who you're playing with you'll probably either have random boring stuff or spend ages making teams while you could be playing.

Also, the teams you meet online with names like "1", "2", "3" or "John", "Bob", "Bill" are boring.

It's not a big problem, but since the teams already exist why not allow us to use them?

This has already been suggested by me and other people before me, back in .12 and before if i remember correctly and it was always rejected.

The thing is, you already have many automatic teams if you go to the team creator and press the random button, the only thing you need to come up to is the team name, actually the same ones the CPU uses when you go to "quick play".

There are 2 issues tho
1. the names, there is no check to make sure the hogs don't get the same ones used before
2. you cant set up exact teams, there is always some randomization
