Game doesn't start

I just installed Hedgewars but the game doesn't start for me. I'm using ATI Radeon 9000 using the radeon free driver.
Does anyone have an idea what the cause could be?

Do you get an error message of some kind?
Are you in windows or linux?
I think that with radeon free driver he's using linux.what distribution are you using?
Anyway,if the game doesn't start at all can you report here what happens if you launch the game from terminal?how did you install the game?

Hedgewars script for ubuntu is here...but maybe I have to update it first

I'm using the OpenSUSE distro and installed the version from the packman repository, which is the latest official release.
Running it from a terminal pulls out the following error: Floating point exception.
Can't wait to play it for the first time
