Well no, I haven't used such thing. But maybe I'll research a little bit and see what can be found with a good quality. Smile It'll cool if you can convert the source of HW into C or C++. Smile The problem is that there are so many Pascal dialects out there...Dunno if there is a tool for FreePascal.

If the developers decide to convert hw to C/C++, I would like to contribute to it too by programming rather than just translating. Hedgewars has so much potential but it needs to be fully unleashed by allowing more people/skilled/dedicated to contribute in the programming part Wink Smiley

Feel free to improve frontend... It needs much more attention than the engine Wink Smiley

yes, that's true too, but I'm not familiar with Qt framework and I'm into SDL.

Hm, free pascal is easier than C and not too exotic when it comes to sytax, you can learn it quickly:
just look at the existing code!
Same for SDL and qt!
Do you think unCORr, nemo and the others were born with that knowledge or what? lol

Learning by doing!

+ Isn't that what software engineering is about? Adapting your basic knowledge of how to solve problems or design solutions to the specific environment/programming languages and problems!

Damn, ANOTHER request to port to C ? I wish people would jump off their high horses already. Pascal/Free Pascal is just fine. It's easier syntax than C/C++, not as moody, just as fast as C/C++ in most cases, some ways even faster nowadays. I could see 10 years ago bitching about it, but hell far, not now...

Anyways, I say stay with what you know, in this case Pascal/Free Pascal. I;ve had issues with speed even on an older 600MHz Dell with 128MB 9700Pro...not my main PC, just a test one for backwards speed tests, I promise Smile

Big Grin I was just asking for a translator and if anyone has used it, because I've never used something like that. If you haven't and have nothing interesting to say, don't post. Annoyed
