You could install PlayDeb, and install hedgewars from there.

The reason the link didn't work for you, is you have to setup the PlayDeb repository first.
The 2nd link, reminding you to do that first, links to the instructions on how to do that.

The first link is just a generic package link for debian systems, that will fetch whatever your settings are. Thus the need to add the PlayDeb repo.
That's the same as the install link on PlayDeb btw.

As for getting it added to the mainstream repo, that is not up to us.
In the past (10.04) Ubuntu *did* backport 0.9.13 to main.

This time it appears they decided not to. They are sometimes whimsical like that.

However, since we're kinda trying to do a 0.9.15 soon, it might not be as beneficial to them as it was with 0.9.13.

Note that Ubuntu 11.04, Natty Narwhale, does have Hedgewars 0.9.14.1.

thanks you guys, the reason why it didnt worked for me before its because i didnt uninstall 0.9.13,
What i did was:

1. uninstall hedgewars 0.9.13
2. download and open play deb 0.3 using ubuntu sofware center
3. after install playdeb 0.3, i downloaded 0.9.14.1

(everybody that is using ubuntu, please read this)

Uninstalling 0.9.13 is quite unnecessary.

The crucial action is to install the PlayDeb repository and reload your sources. At that point 0.9.14.1 will be available for install/update.

I'm not sure if the .deb PlayDeb offers does an automatic reload of sources or not. But definitely do it if you are adding it manually.
