Different mine types

Yes it is me again, i was thinking wouldn't it be nice to have various mine types. The normal mines just go beep beep then boom, so boring and predictable. But what if there were different types of mines? The suspense you would feel knowing that the mine you are on top of might poison you or send a rain of fire down upon you. This would make a very interesting and varying game play.

I have conjured many thoughts upon what various types of mines could be implemented. These of course would have the normal mine appearance and explosion. Perhaps a weaker explosion for those with special damages. That being:

1. The normal explosion cause by the mine.
2. Spike damage mines - The mines have spikes, so what about a spike attack, launching vertically and sideways like a fragmentation grenade doing a set amount of damage.
3. Mortar mines - sending low or high damaging mortars upon it's victims.
4. Incinerator mines - like the Molotov cocktail but less fire spread and flames themselves.
5. Poison mines - sending out poison clouds like the Old Limburger

These are just a few ideas for varying mines it would make game play interesting. I am not sure how this would effect game play but maybe adding in an option to remove certain types of mines for different schemes. Any thoughts?

(3), (4) and (5) could be implemented fairly easily in a script if people wanted to playtest.
