So I downloaded the most recent version of Hedgewars on my laptop (9.25), and when I opened it up, all of my teams, schemes, and weapons were deleted. I discovered that it was because It automatically signed me out, so I signed in and went on with my life. However, when I went on to my pc (which already had the most recent version on it, and I play Hedgewars on it daily), and it was signed in already, it signed me out too deleting all my stuff with it. This must have happened after I downloaded 9.25 on my laptop, and it somehow deleted the stuff on my pc. Not sure what happened, but I just made some new teams and went on with life. Has this happened with anyone else? Thx, Dat_Boi

More detail plz. OS? Was this due to the Windows 1809 patch bug? Were you going from pre-MS-breakage-.25 to workaround-.25 or .23 to .25? There are a couple of config related bugs that spring to mind from last couple of years. Both are recoverable though - i.e. your old stuff should still be there. Oh, and at any point did you specify a custom config location using --profile-dir

Ok. So .23 to .25 falls under the .24 configuration change. Odds are pretty good your old files are there and just failed to migrate... for some reason. I know at one point there were some unusual config values that were messing up the parsing. Hopefully alfadur can weigh in since he implemented it, or maybe wuzzy remembers more about what I ran into. Anyway. The stuff should be there.

Hedgewars data is stored in your [wiki]User directory[/wiki]. Look in there to see if you find your old files again. On Windows, look around in the directory %USERPROFILE%, if you can find any other folder named “Hedgewars”. Use the search feature if you must. Team files have the file name suffix “.hwt”, so that might be a clue to find your files. My guess is that the files were not actually deleted, but Hedgewars simply uses a new location for the files (I can't remember it that well, sorry).
