Notes and curiosities:
Hedgewars was built from scratch and as it never meant in any way to be a "clone" (like people like to call it without knowing what it is) of the W*rms game. It's simply inspired on it.
"Team 17" does not own the game genera or can own any game genera for that matter. Imagine if [id Software] who came up with Wolfenstein 3D many years ago owned the FPS genera! You'd still be playing Quake, Doom and Wolfenstein. No Unreal Tournament, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Halo or other similar games would ever be able to appear on the market.
Many weapons are very similar to W*rms due to constant user\players requests.

great Game but now: how to modify

the first step - build and run on win - is done.

the next question:
does exist an architectural/conceptional overview of the different parts of hedgewars?

I would like to add/change a few things for myself and maybe share code if successful.

but the code lacks of documetation and at the moment i do not understand how the different parts work together and how the resposibilities are distributed.

if there is some doc, please give me a short advise.
