Differenciate the Host in a Room
Fri, 2009-05-29 16:13
sometimes when you enter a room for an online game , you dont know who the Host is , so we start talking to anyone in order to ask "please change the map" , or please give me enough hogs ...etc
i think the right formula for this would be marking the nickname of the host using a different color from the guests.
Nice one, but not needed I think. You see, when you ask something in the lobby like changing a map for example, you have to have in mind the following:
1)The host WILL see your message and will reply/change the map;
2)It affects everyone who's going to play this particular game, so it's nice to ask the others too.
HTML = How To Meet the Ladies
Here is my Unofficial Manual for HW. Hope you like it. Still working on it. Don't worry. Will get it finished...Sometime in the future.
It's still just a very small change that should be rather usefull from time to time.
First I'd remove the ready button for the host as he has to click "Start" first anyway. Second, replace the host's light bulb icon with a star - everything done.
Might try to code that once I've rebuilt my dev environment.
don't remove the host's light bulb because with it he can tell that the settings are all ok and everyone can turn on their light bulbs so he can press Start! to start the match..
if you right click on someones name and click info, you can see who the host of the room is, he will have an "@" symbol in his info.
However, this was just done on the server side quickly and obviously isn't very intuitive, later on we will have symbols to tell you who the host is, and the ability to select a new host if the host leaves. Rather than destroying the room.
cool , that will be a very usefull change
Not the real intention of the bulbs imo.
