Here's a relatively short thought.

How about, when using "Extra Damage" or when just playing with more damage in general, the explosion radius, and damage radius, are increased?
This not only counts for weapons like the bazooka which literally explode, but also for the shotgun's blast radius, etc.

Has come up before.
Tiy is generally opposed to this on the grounds of having some consistent and predictable game elements, and I tend to agree w/ him.

Well its not like you have extra damage from the start in default, and also i doubt that a slightly larger blast radius would make such a world of difference. Furthermore, if you get it in a crate, wouldn't it be nice to have another trick up your sleeve?

Thanks anyway for the quick reply. Smile

Maybe "Extra Explosion" utility and customizable radius would be good?

I would think it makes the most sense for the weapons to have consistent methods of attack, and radii. I mean, take something like the cluster bomb. If you're already making it stronger, why should it also have a larger radius, and have each bomb have a larger radius? You're supposed to make the damage itself stronger if you hit, not *also* make the hitting easier, or even different. That seems like it'd be a different power-up altogether, if at all.

Some game option to have higher radii, or to make the radii larger upon using that power-up might be an alternative, but I can't see it being a priority.

Anyhow, if it doesn't matter much, why bother? I think this would upset way more people than it'd please, because a lot of the game is about calculation- it seems strange to mess with it with no real logic behind it. It could be fun as a mayhem mode or something, but not as a primary mechanic- I think the changes would just frustrate me.

Listening is the first step, and the last step.
