Start LAN server
Sat, 2013-11-16 22:21
Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to start a local LAN server. Is there a separate program that runs to start the server? I gathered from another post that hedgewars-server needs to be started, however I don't seem have that on my system.
Thanks

Hit the icon with the hedgehogs battling on the earth, from there you can either join the official server or create a LAN game.
Thanks for the reply.
Once I click that and select "Play local network game" I only have 3 choices: Update, Specify, & Connect. I don't have an option to create/start a new LAN game.
Er, are you sure?
There should be a "Start server button" button right....

Here's a screenshot of the window. I'm using version 0.9.19
Your package may not have been built with the server.
You can certainly build it yourself though.
You can adapt:
http://code.google.com/p/hedgewars/wiki/BuildingOnLinux
You can possibly also file a bug w/ your distro about packaging server support.

Possibly a network issue? Just saying

Thanks nemo, I'll try building it!
g/l. Another option ofc is to run the server in, oh, a gentoo or ubuntu distro in a VM or chroot
