[Hats] Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Hats
Big Grin
Full panoramic image (automatically updating): https://www.ssbwiki.com/File:SSBU_Panoramic.png

Git repository: https://gitlab.com/Worldblender/hedgewars-hats-smash-bros

A collection of add-on hats based on various characters appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU). Fighters, Kirby's copy ability costumes, assist fighters/trophies, bosses, Poké Ball Pokémon, and Mii hats are all good candidates. Unlike most Hedgewars hats, such as those shipping with the game, all of the hats found in this repository are created in Blender 2.80+ from 3D models. More Nintendo and 3rd-party franchises are covered by this hat collection than what stock Hedgewars covers!

All fighters will likely be covered, but not every assist fighter, boss will be covered, due to some characters having unsuitable designs. Characters that appear only as 2D spirits are ineligible. More hats based on downloadable content (DLC) fighters will be included when their files are ripped, and they are made publicly available.

License for the hats: CC BY-NC 4.0
Not intended to be included on the official DLC page, or as official hats.

Currently covered:
* All of Kirby's copy ability costumes/outfits, excluding Kirby himself. 82 hats are provided so far by this collection.

There are significant quirks with these hats, due to the fact that they are sourced from 3D models instead of being drawn in 2D. This could make any future hats I produce look sub-optimal.

Before I proceed to make more hats (including the full heads of every fighter), I will need some feedback on how I did these 80 hats so far. Once I gain enough feedback, I will make more hats with such feedback in consideration.

[Voice] Retro
A partial adaptation of Juhani Junkala/SubspaceAudio's “The Essential Retro Video Game Sound Effects Collection” as a Hedgewars voicepack. Contains only non-verbal sounds. The only add-on available from the official downloadable content page.

[Voice] Mario64
A fusion of various voice clips from the Nintendo games 'Super Mario 64' (Nintendo 64) and 'Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga' (Game Boy Advance). For both games, the original voice producer for Mario is Charles Martinet. There are no custom/new voiceclips here (or any alterations to the sound files themselves save for WAV to OGG conversion); only those existing in either game are found here.
While I attempted my best to match voiceclips to all implemented events as I could, it is not guaranteed that they actually are good matches for such events.
License undecided, due to non-free content used.

I will use this page to place any info about any future add-ons I make, perhaps along with them having separate forum topics.

I think those hats are not good enough for an Hedgewars inclusion, they are too simple and ugly, if you confront the official ones with yours the difference is too relevant, its impossible you didnt notice it

Being a SSBU fan myself, I like them. Considering I'm inexperienced when it comes to making hats, I can't really leave any feedback or critisism. If they do get added to the official DLC page, I'd use them. Either way, good start!

I already knew that these hats weren't going to make it in as official hats (or even onto the DLC page), and I never intended for that to happen, given that I used non-commercial licensing. I made these hats more because I'm a big fan of official crossover material, and Smash Bros. is one of the few large games offering such material that is otherwise legally difficult. Keep in mind that I used Blender 2.83 to render these hats from 3D models, so their style would never match from the start.

Because these hats are derived directly from non-free copyrighted material (even some of the official hats are like this too!), I'm trying to reduce the likelihood of DMCA takedowns due to bundling non-free material.

Don't expect that they will be added to the official DLC page, because of them being directly derived from non-free copyrighted material. You're always welcome to download them from the Git repository or the Google Drive link.

I updated my Smash Bros. Hats repository to include two more hats with the latest DLC:
* Steve
* Mr. Game & Watch

However, I still do not have Kirby himself. As usual, the hats can either be obtained from https://gitlab.com/Worldblender/hedgewars-hats-smash-bros or
