I just remind everyone that now all Android artillery games are non-free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.worms3.app&hl=en_US&gl=US 4.99$ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.worms2armageddon.app&hl=en_US&gl=US 2.99$ Nothing else found. At my android device, right now, nothing to play! I cannot take hedgewars to the road and play it. IT IS CRITICAL TO RELEASE.

So. This has come up many times. We need a maintainer. you can play using the gang garrison APK if it still works on your device. Are you volunteering to help with maintenance? Otherwise this one will probably stay on hold Sad Smiley So far, many requests but no one volunteering to maintain it...
Well, I've tried to launch something called hedgewars apk, I don't know, garrison APK was that or not, it didn't work. I cannot compile this game on android, but I have a few idea about comfortable PC-like gameplay (taps and swaps combo), if you will use taps and swaps combo instead of keyboard, all will be work. Remember - in modern world, before development of a new product - forget about keyboard! Keyboard-friendly apps just ruins modern android-orienteered world and stops fast development. At other way - maybe, you can ask google about inventing keyboard for android smartphones?

Yeah, sorry, I have pretty only minimal experience in Android development as well. And frankly, I am not even interested in Android, as that's a non-free system. Obviously not as bad as iOS, but still. The absolute very basic groundwork has been already laid, as Hedgewars does have touchscreen support (but it requires a special build parameter to be activated, it's unused in the PC build for now). And there used to be Android builds in very old versions. We do have instructions to build Hedgewars on Android, and maybe they work, or maybe not (I really don't know): [kb]BuildingForAndroid[/kb] If someone used this guide to build Hedgewars for Android (successfully or unsuccessfully), please let us know! I do know that an Android release will be greatly beneficial to Hedgewars, and I agree that it would be a good thing. I totally get your criticism, and it's probably a huge missed opportunity for Hedgewars for not being on Android and all that but the thing is … I just hate Android. Big Grin So it is unfortunate that none of us currently has knowledge (and frankly, the willpower) to actually do the work neccessary. For me, it basically just comes down to laziness. :/ It's not that I would actively oppose an Android build (quite the contrary!), but I don't want to do the work myself. Any help from volunteers would obviously be highly appreciated, but there are currently none. Sad Smiley Also, Hedgewars struggles very much in being known to people at the first place. Hedgewars has been pretty much flying under the radar for over a decade now. Big Grin In the meantime, you can browse on https://f-droid.org/de/categories/games/, there are many (but not exclusively) FLOSS games for Android to find here.
Hi, I am a Hedgewars developer. Smile

Samurai!

I just mean if you need more people, you must find and register japanese fan page at this sites. I found some sites: 1) http://pixiv.net/ - average speed ~10 new images per second. I think, it is japanese social network. 2) http://next.rikunabi.com/ - it is japanese recruitment web site, if you wanna know, how to recruit people, they will teach you how it to do right. 3) Maybe tiktok, but I don't really know, I am not used this. 4) I also was found many japanese gamedev studios web sites, like d-vertex.com, where was hosted some free games and non-free games, I was downloaded free games. 5) During writing this post, I remembered twitter, where japanese people posted many messages. If you tell at least one japanese about hedgewars, he maybe tell the others very fast. Enter point is here, for example: http://twitter.com/uejini But you can find many other japanese people. There is another one: https://twitter.com/kagari_mizuki - She is more than 50 years old, maybe. https://twitter.com/kurimami - this is japanese game developer. https://twitter.com/xinoro - this is another japanese game developer. https://twitter.com/SachioFujima - this is guy who draw trains. I can find many-many japanese people. You can email them.

With regards to the interface on android, the existing APK uses soft buttons for interaction. At the time we'd discussed gesture, but implementation xeli settled on for the port was something more gamepad-y. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4E5brEdzeU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4E5brEdzeU
No, I don't like this interface, because there are too many buttons. Interface must be simple, very simple. There is no need to button jump, because player can 2 times tap on the screen and and this will be much less time than searching "jump button" somewhere in left bottom corner. Triple tap must be a backflip. Total: -2 buttons. But we can substract more buttons.

I was advocating for that at start of all this years ago with the first gen iOS, but touch interfaces were fairly new at the time.. It might be more reasonable to do that now. You should grab the code and give it a shot.

I using and android version and PC version, there is a little differences in both versions, but result the same - music plays and it is easy to find a necessary track. I am not watching video in VLC. We have 4 ways to realise PC commands in hedgewars (better do it libreoffice calc). Tap - touch at the screen; Swap - move at the screen; Gyro sensor(not recommended) - rotate the phone; Button(not recommended) - place button on the screen and restrict game view. Our task - make android gameplay much easier as possible. Here is hotkeys table (example): Command::PC::Android Move right::right button::LONG tap right of the hedgedog... Backflip::2x backspace::3x tap. And other...
